Students from the College
of Computer Studies (CCS) won three of the seven (7) major prizes in the 7th
Accenture™ Student Leadership Conference held in Manila last January
20-21, 2012.
CCS College President
Karina Velasco received the First Place People Developer Award, while La Salle
Computer Society (LSCS) AVP-Finance Angelo Magpantay and Computer Studies
Student Government (CSG) EVP for External Affairs Miguel Arcilla received the
First Place and Runner-Up Business Operator Awards, respectively.
The conference was
attended by 100 of the top-ranking students from several of the premier
universities of the Philippines. Other CCS students who were chosen to join the
event were Ivanhur Duka, Czarina Pedrozo, Samantha Albaniel, Mae Mercado, and
Jenina Chua.
In line with the
conference's theme, "Achieve Beyond the Ordinary," the student
delegates were challenged to complete several physical and mental challenges in
teams, getting a chance to test their leadership and cooperative skills. They
also attended several inspirational and leadership-driven talks.
