UNDERSCORING the University’s commitment to environmental sustainability, De La Salle University recently received solar lamps donated by Fuelco Ventures, Inc., headed by DLSU alumni Clarence Guerrero, president, and Joe Bailey Guerrero, vice president.
A total of 20 solar lamps were donated, five of which were put up in a ceremonial lighting at the Marian Quadrangle last March 19, 2012. The rest of the solar lamps will be placed in the surrounding areas of the DLSU's Henry Sy, Sr. Hall.
In his welcome remarks during the ceremonial lighting, DLSU President and Chancellor Br. Narciso Erguiza, Jr. FSC highlights the importance of the solar lamps as a symbol of commitment to sustainable solutions: “These lamps are not just decorations or accessories; they are a testament to our commitment to help change the way we all live, to show the city – the larger community – that many things can still be done, no matter how crowded and congested a place may be.”
Fuelco Ventures, Inc. is a Makati-based company with business ventures such as Heliosync Street and Roadway Lighting Solutions, whose lighting systems are IP rated and CE certified.
