2nd Open Web Day at DLSU on March 17, 2012



Wikimedia Philippines and Mozilla Philippines will hold their 2nd Open Web Day on March 17, 2012 at 9am-4pm at Room A1103, Br. Andrew Gonzalez Hall, De La Salle University in Manila.

Open Web Day is a free monthly mini-workshop that aims to teach how to edit Wikipedia entries online.

Lasallians lauded in the 23rd BPI-DOST Science Awards



LASALLIAN engineering students were cited for their innovative science and technology theses during the 23rd BPI – DOST Science Awards held at the Br. Andrew Gonzalez Multipurpose Hall on March 9, 2012.

Recognized were: Electronics and Communication Engineering major Aibar Rabi Rashad Bibi for his thesis “Battery Management System (BMS) for Lithium-Ion Electric Vehicle Traction Batteries”; Manufacturing Engineering Management student Katherine Marie de Asis, for her thesis “Crab Claw Meat Extracting and Crab Shell Granulating Machine”; and Mechanical Engineering major Neil Stephen Lopez for his thesis “Energy Modeling, Fabrication and Evaluation of a Small-Scale Natural Convection Solar Dryer for Microalgae Biofuel Production.”

Winners in the 7th Accenture Student Leadership Conference

Students from the College of Computer Studies (CCS) won three of the seven (7) major prizes in the 7th Accenture™ Student Leadership Conference held in Manila last January 20-21, 2012

CCS College President Karina Velasco received the First Place People Developer Award, while La Salle Computer Society (LSCS) AVP-Finance Angelo Magpantay and Computer Studies Student Government (CSG) EVP for External Affairs Miguel Arcilla received the First Place and Runner-Up Business Operator Awards, respectively.
