THE TITLE "FELLOW" of the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) was conferred on Chemical Engineering Associate Professor Dr. Josephine Borja during the 73rd PIChE National Convention held last February 2012.
The exclusive title of PIChE Fellow is given to a Filipino chemical engineer who has distinguished himself or herself in the practice of chemical engineering and service to PIChE, and who shall serve as a model and inspiration for all PIChE members to follow.
Borja’s research projects focus on treatment of hazardous wastes using biological and chemical methods and production of Bioethanol from lignocellulosic materials.

She has served as the vice president for PiChE National Capital Region from 2010 to 2012 and the president of PIChE-Metro Manila Academe Chapter (PIChE-MMAC) from 2009 to 2011. Currently, she is an adviser of PIChE-MMAC.
PiChE is the official professional organization of the Chemical Engineers in the Philippines and is recognized as the accredited professional organization for Chemical Engineering by the Professional Regulation Commission.
